Chandler's Purchase, New Hampshire
Chandler's Purchase is a township located in Coos County, New
Hampshire, United States.. It was granted by Commissioner Willey to Jeremiah
Chandler of Conway in 1835 for $300 and contained about 10,000 acres
(40 kmē). As of the 2000 census, the purchase had a total population of 0.
In New Hampshire, locations, grants, townships (which are different from
towns), and purchases are unincorporated portions of a county which are not
part of any town and have limited self-government (if any, as many are
uninhabited).
According to the United States Census Bureau,, the purchase has a total
area of 2.1 squire miles (5.5 km), of which, 2.1 square miles (5.5 kmē) of
it is land and none of it is covered by water. Its highest point is Mount
Eisenhower (4,780 feet / 1,457 meters above sea level). The Ammonoosuc River
flows through the purchase.
